The Past - Marian & Nora
As waves of Eastern Europeans arrived in Australia, many yearned the continental smallgoods once enjoyed back home. So Polish husband and wife, Marian and Nora Poprawski set out to make smoked hams, sausages, bacon, smoked salmon and many more artisan products based on century old traditions and recipes.
What began as a home-based operation distributing products amongst friends expanded to a dedicated Delicatessen Smokehouse and the launch of Uncle's Smallgoods in Thomas St, Dandenong.
The Present - Brendan & Bert
Taking over Uncle's in 2013, brother-in-law owners Bartek & Brendan made the decision to quickly change nothing at all, honouring the traditional recipes and methods while adding ideas and their passion along the way.
Today, Uncle’s expertly crafted, natural and wood smoked products are distributed to top delicatessens, food stores, grocers to homes around Australia. You'll also find Uncle's products on the menu’s of top restaurants, cafes, pubs and hotels across the country.
